Full Review of the Deuter Attack 20
The Deuter Attack 20 is a completely new and innovative type of backpack which has been designed to protect as well as hydrate. The pack is a larger version of the Attack 18, and has also been created specifically to fit the female form. The Deuter Attack has been styled to help protect adrenaline junky mountain bikers from getting too injured when cycling off road or doing crazy tricks with extra padding, plus leg and arm protection.

Features
The most obvious feature on the Deuter Attack 20 is the added protection it offers to riders, but that is not the only benefit this pack brings. The innovative Shield System uses a multi-layer construction to prevent injuries when the cyclist has a fall. The foam layers and plates provide extra safety and comfort, whilst the shock-absorbing core offers even further protection. The SC1 foam used acts a bit like a memory pillow as it reverts to its original shape and can be used over and over again.
As it has been designed for women, this hydration pack is ultra-comfortable and also offers plenty of space and organisation for your belongings. The fabric on the Attack 20 is very high quality and durable so a few snags from twigs won’t cause any damage. If you were planning a spontaneous day trip out on some serious mountain biking trails, this pack would be ideal. Not only does it feature a reservoir for hydration, but it has 20 litres of cargo space which has been laid out really well.
Other features include a holder for a full face helmet so you no longer have to struggle with it under your arm, a 3M reflector, and numerous exterior pockets to store things you need easy access too.
Disadvantages
The straps keep this pack secure and prevent any moving around on your back, whilst this is great for stability it can mean you get extra sweaty. Unlike many other new packs, this one has not been designed to increase airflow between the back panel and your back, but perhaps Deuter will consider this on a new version.
Advantages
From the second you put the Deuter Attack 20 pack on your back you won’t want to take it off, it is made from good quality materials so there’s no worry when it gets thrown about. Deuter is the first brand, to my knowledge, to combine protection and hydration into one pack. As it was created to fit the female form, women can now enjoy adventurous riding and stay just as comfortable as men.
