Full Review of the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3L Hydration System
The Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre Hydration System is of course the slightly bigger brother of its 2 litre counterpart.
Lezyne, a company based in Obispo, California, has recently expanded its range of specialist equipment for the adventurous biker to include backpacks and smaller packs with and without hydration support. The brand was originally focussed not on hydration packs such as the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre but on pumps, multi-tools, bottle cages, tyre repair kits, rear bike racks, lever kits, etc. and all are beautifully made and constructed to last. Having the opportunity to buy this pack with several tools thrown in is a fantastic bargain.
Being designed for ease of use, the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre has a large top opening for easy access and cleaning of the 3 litre capacity Lezyne high-flow bladder. The bladder also has a specifically engineered dual-lock zip-seal opening with an extra-large tube allowing for faster water flow when on the go. The bladder is made more accessible by routing the tube using a Velcro routing flap while the cleverly designed Lezyne high-flow bite valve has a simple shut-off clip. The whole of the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre is reversible for quicker drying.
With storage in mind, the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre has a full pack length section secured by a bungee cord and aluminium hook, weather-proof zips with polished zip pulls and separately labelled pockets for multi tools, sunglasses, wallet, extra tubes, puncture repair kit, etc. All straps on the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre are secured via Velcro or elastic while EVA re-enforcement provides extra sturdiness without losing any comfort of fit.
Along for the ride are four great Lezyne tools; the Lezyne Classic Drive HV small mini pump, a Lezyne RAP 13 multi-tool, Lezyne Matrix tyre lever and a Lezyne Smart Kit. If nothing else, the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre is an excellent starter pack of bike tools although having said that, if you’re the kind of biker to buy this backpack, you probably have these already.
As with the slightly smaller model, the Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack 3 Litre is a super all-round hydration pack with a fantastic set of custom made tools to boot.

The Lezyne Loaded Smart Pack provides all the tools that you would ever need. It is comfortable and easy to adjust. Plus you get a 3L bladder which is an added benefit. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
I have owned this hydration pack for a year. It is truly the best one that I have owned. It can carry a lot of water. However it is a tad heavy when riding. Especially at the beginning of the ride when the bladder is full. The white part gets dirty easily and I wish I had been able to purchase one that was a darker color.
I love its compartment which allows you to organize your tool kit and food that you take when you are cycling.
The hydration system works well even though it is more difficult to use than the Camelback due to the opening being a ziplock instead of a twist cap. It is an outstanding pack that I would hesitate to purchase if I did it all over again.
